Inimitability of the Ever-Glorious Qur’an
From Fatwa no. 6193
Q 5: With what has Allah challenged those who doubt the revelation of the Qur’an to the Messenger (peace be upon him)?
All praise be to Allah Alone, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, his family and Companions. To proceed:
A: Allah (Exalted be He) has challenged them to bring the like of the Qur’an or ten Surahs or even one Surah like it, but they could not do that. The Almighty says: Say: “If the mankind and the jinn were together to produce the like of this Qur’ân, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they helped one another.”
(Part No. 43; Page No. 98)
The Almighty (Exalted be He) also says: Or they say, “He (Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) forged it (the Qur’an).” Say: “Bring you then ten forged Sûrahs (chapters) like unto it, and call whomsoever you can, other than Allâh (to your help), if you speak the truth!”In another Ayah (Qur’anic verse) the Almighty (Exalted be He) says: Or do they say: “He (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) has forged it?” Say: “Bring then a Sûrah (chapter) like unto it, and call upon whomsoever you can besides Allâh, if you are truthful!”
May Allah grant us success! May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions!
